D'Arcy Jazz Band
The D'Arcy Jazz Band is group of students that focus on instrumental performance in various jazz musical styles bringing together students in Grade 9, 10 and 11. Students can chose this course option for their Personal Development Course. Prior to beginning Jazz Band, students are expected to have previous experience on their instrument as the focus shifts to performing new styles of music.

Rehearsals:
D'Arcy Jazz Band rehearses during the PDC timeslot from 8:50 to 9:15am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Students are expected to spend time outside of class practicing their instrument and learning their individual parts so that the limited 25 minute classtime can be spent working as a group and focusing on difficult passages in need of attention.
Evaluation:
Jazz Band is an option PDC Course offered in Grade 9, 10 and 11. Students will be evaluation each term and receive credits towards graduation. Students will be evaluated on the following:
